Why Mainstream Media – including small, “independent” outlets – all pretty much tell the same story

Now is as good a time as any to reacquaint ourselves with a rare moment of honesty from a Western journalist, as relayed by Swedish conflict correspondent Gunilla Von Hall, at a panel discussion held at the UN in Geneva in August 2012. In her statement, she explained just why Western Media has neither the resources, the inclination nor the will to conduct any independent reporting worthy of that name, and why it rather chooses to tag along the big media giants who set the agenda and dictate what needs to be reported and from what angle.

Just for a laugh, observe the smug grin on the panellists’ faces – in particular former High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay – as if they weren’t all too aware of this sad state of affairs, going in fact so far as to actually validating the compromised Western Mainstream Media’s agenda by quoting it as a reliable source on the numerous one-sided Human Rights reports regularly released by the various Human Rights Council established Commissions of Inquiries.
